|Project Name:||Pictou County Ebara Compost Facility|
|Client Name:||Municipality of Pictou County|
This facility was developed and constructed by Miller Composting Corporation (MCC) for subsequent ownership and operation by the Pictou County District Planning Commission (PCDPC). This facility demonstrated the operational flexibility of the Ebara design in its ability to be downsized to service the predominately rural community of Pictou, N.S. with 6,500 tonnes per year of SSO processing capacity. As a component of this project it was the responsibility of MCC to provided PCDPC staff with training to allow PCDPC personnel to assume day to day operations and maintenance of this facility. Operation of the PCDPC facility began in September, 2000 for the composting of source separated household organics (SSO) as well as primary stage biosolids. Leaf and Yard waste composting takes place at the adjacent Mount Albert Sanitary Landfill.
