Project Description:

Miller was the successful proponent to design and build, maintain and operate the Material Recovery Facility for the City of London. The facility is designed to process 75,000 tonnes per year of Blue Box recyclable material collected in two streams (fibres and commingled containers). The building envelope is built to LEED Silver certification. The facility serves the needs of the City of London and provides adequate capacity for neighbouring municipalities if so required. Miller is responsible for all operations and maintenance of the facility and equipment. Miller is responsible for the daily operation of the facility under a 6 year operating contract. Recyclables are separated into the various marketable materials through a series of mechanical and manual stages. This MRF facility has the highest rate of recovery for recyclables in Ontario.
